A Change Must Be Made

Female. Twenty. 5'9''. Vegetarian. I'm tired of being the fat friend, or the girl that everyone looks over because of her weight. I'm constantly comparing myself to other girls, and wishing I had their bodies. I want to change myself and feel more confident in my own body. I'm going to do it in a healthy way, by watching what I eat and exercising. This blog is my inspiration and thoughts.

Anonymous asked: How do you stay motivated?!?!?! I tried for a few days... did okay but stopped... I still try to eat healthier and getting out of the habit of not eating.... but I lost my motivation to continue to work out :/ since I started eating better for about two weeks now I've lost two pounds.... but I still feel pretty bad :(

Sometimes I’m not motivated at all. Sometimes I miss workouts and don’t eat as healthy as I know I could. But then I remember why I started this in the first place. I wanted to be healthier, to live a healthier life style and love myself. I used to be so down on my body and I didn’t want to live that way anymore so I decided to change it. You aren’t going to be perfect. Perfect doesn’t exist. Some days you’re going to feel like giving up. But when that happens, remind yourself why you started this in the first place.

People find many different ways to stay motivated with working out. For me, I have to do workouts that have a schedule, such as the 30 Day Shred or Insanity. That way I can follow the schedule and mark it off on a calender. Find something that works for you. Maybe you like to run, or dance, or practice yoga. Find a workout that you like, and that way it will be fun and won’t seem like a chore. Keep reminding yourself that working out is a good thing for your body and mind, it’s not a punishment.

I love the feeling after a good workout. My mood always improves and I feel great. Try to remember that feeling, remember how a workout makes you feel.

And don’t get down on yourself. You are amazing. Just the simple fact that you’ve decided to become healthier is an amazing thing and shows how much courage you have. Keep pushing yourself. Your body is capable of some spectacular things, but you have to push yourself and push your mind. A lot of times it’s our own minds that get in the way and tell us that we can’t do something.

Try to stay positive. Create a workout schedule that works for you. Start small and work your way up. Baby steps, don’t overwhelm yourself. Just keep reminding yourself that you can do this.
